	31/07/2013 Festival Circulation(s) 2014 de París La cuarta edición de este festival tendrá lugar por primera vez en el Centquatre, espacio cultural multidisciplinar del este parisino, del 7 de febrero al 16 de marzo de 2014. Al igual que en ediciones anteriores del festival, se seleccionará a partir de una convocatoria abierta a los fotógrafos aficionados o profesionales participantes. Esta convocatoria abierta se dirige a todos los artistas europeos o residentes en Europa que comienzan su carrera en el mundo de la fotografía. El tema del festival es libre. 	31/07/2013 Public Art Open Submission, Swansea, UK Locws International is pleased to announce its inaugural Public Art Open Submission competition for UK and international artists interested in working in the public realm. Artists are invited to submit a proposal for a temporary public artwork to be realised in the city of Swansea, Wales, UK, as part of Locws International’s Art Across The City programme in 2014. The selected artist will receive a £1,000 fee and a budget up to £2,500 to cover design, production, materials and installation, plus agreed expenses. Ten artists from the Open Submission process will be shortlisted with one being selected by the judging panel to develop and deliver their proposal. All shortlisted artists will be considered for future Locws International events and commissions. 	31/07/2013 The Santo Foundation Awards for Artists 2013 The Santo Foundation Awards for Artists Entry fee: $40.00 Deadline: August 15, 2013 To celebrate our 5th Anniversary The Santo Foundation will be awarding five Individual Artist Awards. Our distinguished juror is Marilu Knode, Executive Director of Laumeier International Sculpture Park. She will award three individual artists $5000.00 each. In addition we are introducing the Artist Choose Artist Award. Internationally acclaimed artist and critical writer Buzz Spector will award two individual artists $500.00 each. Marilu Knode has been working in the arts for twenty-five years, focusing the past fifteen years on organizing projects international in scope. Her work in the Middle East began when Knode was the U.S. Commissioner for the 7th International Cairo Biennale with Nancy Spero, and she co-founded a curatorial practice program at the American University in Cairo. Knode has commissioned temporary and permanent projects with artists from around the globe, and brings this international perspective to Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis where she began as director in 2009. Prior to arrival at Laumeier, Knode served as Associate Director / Head of Research at F.A.R. (Future Arts Research) at Arizona State University. She served as Senior Curator at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Her credits also include the Institute of Visual Arts at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Knode has an extensive record of lectures, panel and jury activities including ArtForum Berlin and the Yale School of Architecture.. She has contributed essays to Art in America, Flash Art, Tema Celeste, the Savannah College of Art and Design, CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, Madrid, the Neuer Aachener Kunstverein, Germany and Townhouse Gallery, Cairo, among others. Buzz Spector is an artist whose artwork has been shown in such museums and galleries as the Art Institute of Chicago, Los Angeles County Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. Spector has received several awards including the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Fellowship. He was awarded the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1982, 1985 and 1991. In the belief that Malevich was a pioneer of modern art and should be better recognized for his key contributions to the history of Modernism, the Malevich Society awards grants to encourage research, writing, and other activities relating to the history and memory of Kazimir Malevich. The Society welcomes applications from scholars of any nationality. PhD candidates whose dissertation topics have been accepted by their institutions may apply for support after completing at least one year of dissertation research. Proposed projects should increase the understanding of Malevich and his work, or augment historical, biographical, or artistic information about Malevich and/or his artistic legacy. 	24/07/2013 II SIMPOSIO DI SCULTURA - MISTRETTA REGOLAMENTO DESCRIZIONE Il Comune di Mistretta, in collaborazione con la Pro Loco Mistretta, indice il “Secondo Simposio di scultura d’arte contemporanea in pietra” che si svolgerà da giovedì 22 agosto a domenica 25 agosto 2013 presso la Villa Comunale Garibaldi di Mistretta. Il Simposio è volto alla realizzazione di opere di design e/o di arredo urbano da collocarsi nel territorio del Comune di Mistretta. Scopo dell’iniziativa è quello di valorizzare le potenzialità creative degli artisti, di preservare un mestiere antico come quello dello scalpellino e di creare un rapporto naturale e suggestivo tra arte e territorio creando uno spazio espositivo dove le opere di pietra realizzate convivano con le sculture di piante. OBIETTIVI: Valorizzazione del territorio locale e delle sue risorse; Salvaguardia della memoria storica del territorio; Ampliamento del patrimonio artistico del Comune di Mistretta; Diffusione dei linguaggi dell’arte contemporanea; Conoscenza e valorizzazione delle risorse tipiche del territorio attraverso l’elaborazione delle opere in pietra; Promozione, conoscenza e valorizzazione delle espressioni artistiche contemporanee; Sviluppo del confronto tra gli artisti e la popolazione (residenti, stranieri e turisti). ART. 1 – OGGETTO E CONDIZIONI Ogni partecipante, dovrà ispirarsi al contesto storico, alle tradizioni e al territorio, ai suoi prodotti e alle sue risorse realizzando un oggetto di design e/o di arredo urbano che dovranno costituire un arricchimento per il centro cittadino e si dovranno armonizzare con l’ambiente circostante. Il tema del simposio vuole sintetizzare le principali peculiarità della Citta’ Mistretta e della sua gente, la sua storia, la sua lingua, i suoi proverbi e le sue tradizioni, in sostanza la tipicità di un luogo che mantiene l’ interesse per la Sua pietra che è diventata emblema e manto per la Città stessa. La giuria tecnica, di cui all’art.4, selezionerà 8 progetti tra quelli che perverranno secondo le modalità indicate e le opere realizzate resteranno in esposizione permanente all’interno del centro storico o nello spazio espositivo pensato all’interno della villa Chalet di Mistretta. ART. 2 – REQUISITI PER L’AMMISSIONE AL SIMPOSIO La partecipazione al Simposio di scultura d’arte contemporanea in pietra è riservata a scultori di ogni nazionalità, senza limite d’età e in possesso di diploma o altro titolo di indirizzo artistico o a studenti presso gli istituti d’arte o le accademie, oppure artisti che abbiano già partecipato ad altri concorsi, simposi o rassegne di scultura contemporanea. In caso di studenti, sarà necessaria la certificazione di frequenza da parte dell’istituto di appartenenza. ART. 3 – MODALITÀ DI PRESENTAZIONE DELLE CANDIDATURE La domanda di partecipazione, redatta sul modello allegato al presente bando, dovrà essere inviata a mezzo Raccomandata AR entro e non oltre il 12 agosto 2013 (farà fede la data del timbro postale) al seguente indirizzo: Pro Loco Mistretta, via Libertà 267, 98073 Mistretta Me Sulla busta dovrà essere riportata la seguente dicitura: “contiene domanda di partecipazione al “secondo simposio di scultura d’arte contemporanea in pietra”. Alla domanda di cui sopra il candidato dovrà allegare: Il progetto della scultura – disegno su foglio A4 o in formato pdf (dimensioni in scala 1:10 precisando le misure reali – pena l’esclusione); Titolo del progetto; Relazione descrittiva del progetto; Curriculum Vitae dell’artista; Fotografie di opere già realizzate; Fotocopia di un documento d’identità in corso di validità e con fotografia ben visibile. ART. 4 – SELEZIONE DEI PROGETTI La giuria tecnica chiamata a selezionare 8 progetti da realizzare sarà composta come segue: 1- Sindaco o delegato Città di Mistretta 1 -Presidente Pro Loco Mistretta 3-esperti del mondo artistico e culturale contemporaneo nominati dal Sindaco 1- direttore artistico e responsabile dell'evento nominato dalla Pro Loco Mistretta La giuria tecnica selezionerà i progetti in base all’idea creativa e secondo i criteri di attinenza ai requisiti richiesti. Le decisioni della giuria sono insindacabili. Gli esiti delle valutazioni saranno pubblicati sul sito web del Comune di Mistretta (www.comune.mistretta.me.it) e della Pro Loco Mistretta (www.prolocomistretta.it) entro il 19 agosto 2013. Gli artisti selezionati saranno contattati dal responsabile dell’evento al fine di confermare la partecipazione al Simposio. Nel caso di impedimento alla partecipazione, la giuria designerà un sostituto sulla base dei progetti presentati. ART. 5 – CARATTERISTICHE DEL PROGETTO ARTISTICO Il progetto artistico deve prevedere obbligatoriamente l’utilizzo della pietra nebroidea Considerata la conformazione dei siti individuati per la futura posa delle sculture, e data la numerosa presenza di opere verticali, saranno graditi anche progetti che prevedano uno sviluppo su piano orizzontale. Le sculture dovranno essere realizzate nelle seguenti dimensioni approssimative di altezza: MIN – 50 cm MAX - 100 cm Agli artisti sarà fornito il seguente materiale: Materia prima (blocchi di pietra – misure in cm): 100 x 40 x 50 prof. circa Attacco alla presa elettrica (220 Kw) Compressore N.B. Gli artisti dovranno provvedere alla propria attrezzistica nonché, in caso di progetti che prevedano l’assemblaggio con altri materiali, ai materiali aggiuntivi. ART. 6 – SVOLGIMENTO DEL SIMPOSIO Gli artisti, selezionati dalla giuria tecnica, dovranno realizzare le opere all’interno della Villa Garibaldi del Comune di Mistretta. Il Simposio avrà luogo da giovedì 22 agosto a domenica 25 agosto 2013. Gli artisti saranno ospitati gratuitamente presso le strutture appositamente convenzionate, in pensione completa (pernottamento, colazione, pranzo e cena). Le opere realizzate resteranno di proprietà dell’Amministrazione Comunale e saranno collocate nel centro urbano o nella villa Chalet del Comune di Mistretta a totale discrezione dell’Amministrazione Comunale. Rimarranno altresì di proprietà dell’Amministrazione i progetti presentati, foto, pubblicazioni e ogni altro materiale. Nessun compenso verrà corrisposto all’artista per le opere realizzate. ART. 7 – PREMIAZIONI Ogni artista riceverà un riconoscimento ufficiale (targa o altro) e un cesto di prodotti tipici locali. ART. 8– CONDIZIONI GENERALI L’Amministrazione Comunale e la Pro Loco Mistretta non risponderanno per eventuali infortuni, danni a persone, oggetti o cose che potrebbero verificarsi durante il Simposio. L’organizzazione, pur assicurando la massima cura nella custodia delle opere, declina ogni responsabilità per danni, furti o incendi che potrebbero verificarsi durante le fasi della manifestazione. L’eventuale assicurazione dell’opera rimane a carico dell’artista. La partecipazione al Simposio comporta l’accettazione integrale di tutte le clausole del seguente regolamento e a tal fine i partecipanti allegheranno all’istanza presentata una copia firmata del regolamento sottoscritta per accettazione.
